Here is your planning for the festival. Discover your activities at the Market and at the Competition and Screenings you may attend and participate.

Introduction

The International Market of Image and Writing (MIIE) will take place on the 21st International Scriptwriters Festival Edition - Valence Scriptwriting. Valence (Drôme) from April 4th to April 7th 2018.

The event is organized around three poles :

  • The MIIE (for International Market of Image and Writing) is a strictly reserved area for audiovisual professionals, to meet (networking), launch new project, and sign new contracts. You will find the Market under a tent called the VILLAGE. Where meetings and appointments take place until 5 pm. The Meeting Office will be there to guide you every day, from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
    Each one of the matinees at the MIIE will focus on a particular theme through scheduled MIIE-TINGS and KEYNOTES.
  • The Creation Competition (for work in process) aims at revealing new talents and will grant award to script’s projects for short film, full-length film, animated film, web, new writing or soundtracks. This competition takes place at the Lux - National Scene, during the afternoon.
  • The Screens Competition (for achieved work), project a selection of artworks across various media and formats (cinema, series, web, animation, fiction, documentaries, etc) to reveal new talents of the contemporary audiovisual scene. Screenings stands at the Lux – National Scene during the evening.

Good to know :

  • MIIE-TINGS are short thematic meetings, B to B, with no prior appointment.
  • You have to sign-in to participate to the MIIE-TINGS.
  • KEYNOTES are short informative talks at noon.
  • The VILLAGE is the tent near the monumental fountain : area dedicated to the MIIE (International Market of Image and Writing).
  • From 5pm, VILLAGE opens to public for the Introduction of Guests.

  • 10 : 00 / 11 : 00 am - VILLAGE / MIIE-TING #2. “Let yourself go” (Blind MIIE-TING).
  • 11 : 30 / 12 : 30 am – VILLAGE / Conference. “How do you finance and broadcast new contents.” With a representative from France Television new writings departments and from Arte Creative.
  • 12 : 30 / 06 : 00 pm – VILLAGE / Professional Market appointments. B to B appointments are set up in the market area.

SATURDAY 7TH APRIL

  • 09 : 30 / 11 : 00 am – VILLAGE / MIIE-TING #3. You’ve followed their works since the beginning of the festival ; know you can meet the authors in competition at the festival, on individual appointments.
  • 11 : 30 / 12 : 30 am – VILLAGE / Introducing Marathoners. Creation Competition : cinema category – short film. Introducing the participants, sponsored by an author and a producer. They will tell you about the script they’ve been writing for the last 48 hours at the Marathon of writing.
  • 06 : 00 pm – VILLAGE / End of the Market.

  • 05 : 00 / 06 : 00 pm – VILLAGE / New writings workshop. Creation Competition : new writings category (transmedia and interactive). Competitors coached by an experienced scriptwriter and a producer have 10 minutes to present their project, on stage, in front of an audience of audiovisual professionals and before the Innovation Jury.
